About Us

Internationally known as, Canada’s Accountability Coach, Paul Larsen is the founder of Ground Zero Recovery Group. This group’s mission is to help others escape the death grip of futility, by guiding them towards living their life on purpose.  “Too many of us are just biding our time until the end of days. We need to do something FAST”, says Mr. Larsen.

Paul understands completely the pain, suffering and unspoken hopelessness of his students. In his books, Paul explains in detail the times in his life where he has used specific techniques to pick himself up from hopeless situations and the feelings of utter failure.

Instead of being beaten into submission by life Mr. Larsen arms his students with the tools he edifies in his books, in his course, and in his workshops.

Now, with a new found lease in life, and a toolbox full of easy to implement stepping stones, Paul’s students transform their life from one of despair and ruled by intellect, to productive, healthy living.

You may have heard Mr. Larsen featured on CJAY92, and QR77 radio, or perhaps read about him and his achievements in the Calgary Herald, The Calgary Sun, and the Globe and Mail. You may have also seen him from his multiple appearances on CityTV as well.

Paul’s courageous business ideals and never give up attitude is how he won The Alberta Entrepreneur of the year award.

His book: Too Afraid to Live, Too Scared to Die was requested by Dr. Sheri Melrose to be used at the Athabasca University as required reading for their Practical Nursing Program, to become Licensed Practical Nurses. This is a required fourth year program that nursing students must have in order to get their undergraduate degree in Nursing – Bachelor of Nursing (BN). This is a “closed” program and only select nurses who meet certain criteria are able to be enrolled. There is currently a waiting list of over 100 nurses trying to get into this course.

Mr. Larsen’s book is ONE of only THREE text books used in the course. One of the other books is an actual textbook, and the second is a drug reference manual written by Detective Steve Walton (Retired) with pictures to help the nurses identify street drugs when presented with an overdosing patient. Mr. Larsen’s book is primarily used to help nursing students understand the mindset of depression and substance abuse.

Paul’s genuine, non-judgmental concern for others makes him an invaluable asset to those that need a hand up, not a hand out. His heart goes out to anyone who feels hopeless; who feel his or her life is over; or to anyone who feels like life is a lesson in futility.  He wants you to KNOW there is a better way. “Intellect will not save you. Your heart will.”
